Greenhouse Challenge
As a committed member of the Greenhouse Challenge, Hobart Water strives to continually improve its emission offsets through innovative solutions.
Employees have embraced the challenge by developing micro-hydro generators and solar power for some of its infrastructure. A third micro-hydro project will be introduced in 2007, as part of the organisation’s ongoing roll-out of power-saving and environment-friendly programs.
Hobart Water also registers its pollution emissions annually to the National Pollutant Inventory, which provides Australians with free access to information on the types and amounts of pollutants being emitted in their community.
